Monopoly Tournament to Benefit Student Scholarships
The public is invited to participate in the tournament on Nov. 6.
Cañada College is hosting a Monopoly tournament on Saturday, Nov. 6 to benefit scholarships for students studying accounting. The cost to participate is $10 for students and seniors and $15 for the general public. Sign-in begins at 10 a.m. and the tournament starts at 10:30 a.m. It will be held in the school's gymnasium.
"We'll have prizes for the top players and we'll crown the top Monopoly player at the college," said event organizer Leonor Cabrera, an accounting professor at Cañada. "Our main goal, of course, is to raise money for accounting scholarships. All proceeds benefit that program."
