February 26, 2008

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

It is with deep sadness that I inform you that Pamela Ward Smith, EOPS Counselor and CARE Instructor, who suffered from a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully in her home ont, Monday, February 25th, at 7:30 P.M.

Pamela began counseling here at Cañada in 1987 and became a full-time Counselor in 1988.  She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Anthony and two children—Tiffany, age 16, a student at Monroe High School and Maurice, age 20, a junior at San Francisco State University.

Staff and students who are in need of grief counseling may contact Dr. Siew Kuek in Psychological Services in Building 5, Room 207 or call (650) 306-3152.

Our condolences go out to her family, faculty, staff, and students in their hour of need.
