About the Department
The Office of Student Activities is a department within Student Services that:

Provides information on student clubs,

Plans campus activities,

Advises the student Government, and
-
Distributes I.D. cards
Mission Statement
The Office of Student Activities creates a learning environment outside of the classroom by:

Providing services, activities, and information that promote leader development;
- Encouraging student participation in campus life (i.e. clubs, student government, volunteer activities, events, etc); and
- Supporting student success in leadership roles and processes.

Getting Involved
The college experience is meant to be fun as well as academically rewarding.
At Cañada students can join a club, attend an event, or volunteer in the community
Getting involved is a great way to:
- Meet new people,
- Experience something new,
- Connect with the Cañada community,
- Develop leadership skills,
- Take a break from academics and relieve stress, and
- Build your transcript or resume
Also by participating in campus life you can create the college experience you want and make Cañada your own!

Get updates on campus events, volunteer and leadership opportunities
Register a Club!
To register a new or existing club students will need to:

Create a constitution
-
Have at least 4 officers and 1 adviser (district employee),
-
Complete the online club registration form. New clubs/organizations will need to attach a copy of the club constitution,
-
Have the club president and treasurer complete the online Club Orientation

Submit a signed Club Account Signature Card available at the Student Activities Office. The signature card requires signatures from the club president, club treasurer and club advisor.
For students interested in starting a new club, check with the Office of Student Activities to see if the club/organization you are interested in starting already exisit.
Vending Commission
The Vending Commission is a College-based committee funded through vending machine sales. The Vending Commission provides funding for events, activities, and programs that are student focused.
To qualify for funding a program or activity:

Must target a maximum number of Cañada students

Take place during the 08-09 academic year

Additional Services
Get a Cañada College Student I.D.
-
Make the most of your Cañada College experience by paying your $8.00 Student Activities Fee and receive your official Cañada College School ID.

Students can pick up a student I.D. or update a current Cañada I.D. in Building 9 Room 108
-
School ID's expire at the end of each semester

You can renew your ID by paying your $8.00 activities fee, then updating your card with the current semester stickers

Discounts available for local businesses
On-Campus Vending
Independent merchants, corporations, and non-profit organizations seeking to set up information tables, recruit students for employment, or sale approved merchandise on campus must complete a On-Campus Vendor Application to make a reservation for vending space.

Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance

Vendors may not reserve tabling space on Fridays

Vendors may set up as early as 9am and may stay on campus until 8pm

Vendors will be provided with one table and two chairs (if requested)
Vending Machine Refunds
Refunds for malfunctioning vending machines can be obtained from the Student Activities Office, 5-211A during office hours.
On-campus Posting/Advertising
The On-campus Posting policies apply to all student�clubs and non-College affiliated organizations or individuals, looking to publicize an event or product for sale on College property.
