Parking
Parking Permit Information
Anyone who parks any motor vehicle on campus (except motorcycles) during day and evening hours is required to have a parking permit. Parking permits are not required in the student parking lots on weekends or holidays.
Semester Permits
Students can purchase a semester-long permit for a fee of $35. This is a Rear View Mirror Hanging Permit, which is transferable from vehicle to vehicle. Permits are sold in the Cañada College Business Office located in Building 9, Room 119, which is open from 8am to 3:30pm, Monday- Fridays. The office is open the first two weeks of the semester until 8pm, Monday through Thursday.
Hanging permits must be hung on the rear view mirror of the vehicle in plain sight with the permit number showing.
Daily Permits
Daily permits may be purchased for $2 per day at dispensers located near the student parking areas:
- On the left side of the main entrance road before the top of the hill.
- On the right side of the main entrance road past the top of the hill, across from the gymnasium building.
- At the tennis court parking lot.
All machines are painted red and are monitored daily. Daily permits are valid in any student lot for the entire day. Daily permits must be displayed on the dashboard in plain sight at all times.
Motorcycles
Motorcycles do not require a permit, but must be parked in the designated motorcycle parking area located in lot 6 across from the loading dock of the gymnasium.
Lost & Stolen Permits
If you lose your semester Parking Permit you must purchase a new permit at full price. If your permit is stolen, you may present documentation of the theft (ex: police report of stolen vehicle) with a completed Stolen Permit Form (available at the Business Office) to the Vice President of Student Services office (Building 8, Room 308) to have another permit issued at no charge.
Parking Enforcement
Parking enforcement begins with the start of classes. During the first two weeks of classes, warnings will be issued for most violations. This grace period does not apply to staff lots and other restricted areas.
Disabled Student Parking
Spaces painted blue and/or marked with the disabled logo are reserved for those persons with a CA disabled placard, license plate, or holders of disabled (DP) decals. Students with temporary ambulatory disabilities who do not have a placard may receive special parking consideration by contacting the Director of DSP&S, Bldg. 5, Room 207.
Parking Availability
Parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
Parking is a privilege that is issued by permit for a fee. Students
may park in lots 1, 3, 6, or 7. Students may not park in staff
lots 2, 5, and 8 or in the visitor lot 4. Students may park in Staff Lot 8 AFTER 1:00 pm, but ONLY in spaces that are not designated for STAFF ONLY. Cañada College
and the San Mateo County Community College District are not
liable for vandalism, theft, or accidents. Use of campus parking
facilities is at the user's risk. Any vehicle incidents should
be reported immediately to the Campus Security Office, Building
13, Room 28, 306-3420 or to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
